Gluten free Sprout bread with high content of mineral, fibre and vitamin D

Sprout bread is Pure Food`s new tasty nutrition rich gluten free bread. It was developed as a result of our customers requesting a “multi-seed” bread free for gluten, wheat starch, milk and eggs.

We created a Sprout Bread mix containing 36% seeds such as sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, golden flax seeds, brown flax seeds, chia flour and 1 % of sprouted sunflower seeds. High seed content and the combination of various seeds creates a delicious taste and also increases nutrition level.

Pumpkin seeds have long been valued as a source of the mineral zinc, magnesium or protein. Both golden and brown flax seeds contain omega-3 fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) which we consider as a “good” fat. Also, sunflower seeds and chia result in increased nutrition and taste quality.

According nutritional analysis sprout bread is the source of magnesium and sink, rich in fibre and vitamin D and other important trace minerals such us manganese (helping to create essential enzymes for building bones) and copper (essential to the proper functioning of organs and metabolic processes).

Zinc and magnesium deficiency is not uncommon.

Magnesium, for example, contributes to a reduction of tiredness and fatigue, normal function of nervous system or maintenance of normal bones.

Essential trace element zinc has substantial biological importance and is responsible for a number of different functions in the human body. To name just a few, it contributes to the maintenance of normal bones, hair, skin and vision. Zinc also play a central role in the  normal function of immune system.

The trend in gluten free baking is to avoid de-proteined wheat starch. Therefore, we replaced it with quality non-GMO potato, corn and tapioca starches combined with a wide variety of seeds and chia flour.

Vitamin D

Sprout bread contain Vitamin D Yeast, which provides a natural safe form of vitamin D. According EFSA Panel on Dietetic Products, vitamin D has many health benefits such as contribution to the normal function of the immune system or bone strength and reduction of risk of osteoporotic fractures by reducing bone loss.

Fibre

Three slices of sprout bread (ca 100g) contain about 8 grams of fibre, which is roughly 30 % of the recommended daily intake. High-fibre food is considered to be important to normalize bowel movements, helps maintain bowel health, lower cholesterol level, help control blood sugar level and aid in achieving a healthy weight.

How to prepare it

The best way to prepare the bread is to warm up slices of the bread in a toaster. Bread spread, vegetables, herbs, spices, olive oil, sprouts or nuts can be added to satisfy everyone’s taste. Combining your fantasy and culinary skills will result in your favourite bread.
